Conservation
- Upper Booth is farmed with conservation in mind. The farm is part of the National Trust's High Peak Estate where the aim is to maintain the landscape and its features and encourage wildlife.
- The farm is part of DEFRAs North Peak Environmentally Sensitive Area. Two Sites of Special Scientific Interest are found on the farm.
- In conjunction with DEFRA and the National Trust, a programme of restoring drystone walls is being carried out, and remnant hedges are being replanted. The ditches on an area of pasture have been blocked to re-wet the land in order to encourage wading birds such as snipe, lapwing and curlew.

- The farm is also LEAF's first upland demonstration unit. More details here>>>.
- Upper Booth Farm won the 2003 Derbyshire Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) Fisher German Trophy in recognition of the farms conservation programme.
- In July 2003 Upper Booth's conservation work won recognition at the Inaugural Awards of the David Arnold-Forster Trust. Press Coverage.

Friends of the Peak District Walk
One incredible place. Three magnificent walks. Celebrate and protect the Peak District landscapes with Friends of the Peak District's Magnificent Charity Walk.
Sunday 15 April 2011
Join Friends of the Peak District, the charity dedicated to caring for the Peak District Countryside, on their charity walk to raise funds to care for this beautiful, but fragile place.
Starting from the stunning Thornbridge Hall, there is a choice of three magnificent walks:
1. The 21 Mile Challenge - taking in some of most the iconic places of the Peak District including Chatsworth Park, Derwent Valley Heritage Way, the Monsal Trail and Frogatt Wood.
2. The Magnificent 7 Miles - a whistle stop tour round some of the most inspiring views and places in the Peak District including Monsal Dale, Litton, Cressbrook, Little Longstone, Great Longstone and Brushfield.
3. The Three Cake Challenge - a short relaxing walk, suitable for even the smallest of feet, with 3 cake stops on route. Taking in the Monsal Trail and exclusive access to gardens of Thornbridge Hall.
All walks return you to Thornbridge Hall where you can rest your weary feet, enjoy a well deserved drink and take a rare opportunity to look round the grounds of this private home.
